Make sure that a lift is CE approved – it’s your guarantee that it meets the right design and safety criteria. Four post lifts tend to be used for wheel support applications and often for heavier vehicles. Look for good capacity and overall strength – particularly in platform design – this may be essential for some applications such as wheel alignment. There should be proper provision for jacking beams particularly where built in turn plates or wheel alignment are used. Check the service support – the name on the lift is not always the name of the manufacturer.
